About Me
I became interested in audio as a teenager in the 70's. My first LP was Zeppelin 4 which I played repeatedly on my parent's Lloyd LP changer (complete with the penny on the headshell) while I lay on the ground with each speaker on either side of my head. I destroyed that LP I played it so much. I was never interested so much in "loud" as I was attracted to "clean". I had no idea how to describe it but I knew it when I heard it. A good friend had a higher end system which had incredible clarity and, opposite of almost everything else I heard at the time, a freedom from audible distortion at high levels. And thus, I had the audio bug and over the years have been through a significant evolution of components that paralleled an evolution in audio readings (Stereo Review to Audio to Stereophile to Listener, Fi, TAS, Perfect Vision and the web...). I have about 900 LPs and over 1000 CD's. I took performance piano and some classical guitar in my late teens (loved it and still miss it).

I enjoy every genre of music except hard core country and opera (probably due to a lack of familiarity more than anything else). I enjoy both 2-channel and multi-channel (whichever brings me closer to the performance). Other interests include film, high end home theater, food and wine, target shooting and fitness for starters. Currently, I am AD Army and a health care professional. My profession takes up the majority of my days but I try to find time to listen whenever I can. My biggest problem: if I start a listening session, I won't be able to stop...which is a good thing.
