About Me

I am a fifty something Minnesotan. I am the founder and owner of Jade Audio, LLC, a very high end cable manufacture specializing in the use gold wire, cotton dielectrics and anti vibration techniques in cable construction.

I am presently on a heart transplant list after fourteen years of heart disease. I expect to receive a new heart in 2010. Prior to my heart problems I owned a fifty person architectural practice specializing in golf clubhouses and multi-million dollar single family residential design.

I am a life long audiophile; I prefer acoustic music and female vocals as well as small ensemble groups. I enjoy jazz and classical and of course 60’s and 70’s rock. I use music as a stress release, relaxation therapy.

My Audio System

My room is a dedicated 19’ x 14’ room. I use heavily modified Dunlavy IVa speakers set up on the long wall. They are 1/5th the width into the room and about 9’ apart. The listening chair is 1/3rd the width into the room. The electronics include a heavily modified Sony SCD-1 SACD player. A modified Aesthetix Callisto tube pre-amp with a Plinius SA-102 class A pre-amp. Speaker cables are Jade Audio Vermeil Gold. (bi-wired) the interconnects are Jade Audio Reference Solid Gold RCA. Power cords are Dream State Dream Catcher’s throughout.

Shelves, isolation, vibration control are my second passion to the cables. I have experimented and written extensively on this issue and feel I am one of the true “experts” in this area.
